Orange Is The New Black

Unless you were living under a rock last summer, you will have heard of the Netflix original series Orange Is The New Black. The show was television gold and left us all waiting with baited breath for more. The prison-TV smash seems to have led the way for some of 2014’s spring fashion trends; thankfully not the jumpsuit variety!

This year the ‘in’ colour is, yes, you guessed it, orange! After catwalk shows at the notorious London Fashion Week, it became apparent that the gutsy reds, pinks and oranges are the springs seasons must have items.

Whilst I would normally recommend keeping bold colours to a minimum by offsetting them with a much lighter or neutral clothing item, I think that 2014 is the year to go the extra mile and be daring in your fashion decisions. A simplistic, monochromatic, orange dress would be ideal for this springtime, accessorised accordingly. However, if you do wish to add some braver features to your outfit, I would also suggest mixing some blues into your fashion choices to compliment your new orange fashions.
