FINAL COLLECTION

DECORATIF HEIGHTS

The assorted and decorative nature of Art Deco is a key influence from the architecture to the Art Deco jewellery. My collection references the art deco design and infuses it with a modern and simplistic silhouette.

The collection is inspired by the architecture of the Chrysler building. This led me to focus at looking at the geometrics, within the exterior and interior’s of the building, geometric shapes and patterns inspired by Deco jewellery from the 1920s inspired my simplistic motifs within my collection.

I created texture and layers in the garments through the use of different fabrications including wool, leather, suede and moleskin. The Chrysler buildings geometric windows inspired the laser cut and engraved panels within my collection. Combining panels with applique, beading, engraving and laser cutting to create a wearable yet sophisticated and clean cut collection. My colour palette is chosen for the season Autumn/Winter and consists of different shades of the colour black, grey, navy, pink and hints of metallic silver.

Designed for a contemporary woman, a woman whom effortlessly makes a statement in her day- to – day clothing.
